The Future of GPS navigation

by Radu Panciuc on September 26, 2009

Wave is a free smartphone application which takes the GPS navigation to the next level. The Wave maps are user generated maps and the coolest thing about this application is that its users can easily update the maps (traffic jams, accidents, hazardous areas). According to gizmodo.com the application regularly checks your car’s speed to help determinate traffic conditions and disable the keyboard to prevent users from typing while driving. This application would be very helpful to future projects such as Roadar, one of the winning teams at the Social Innovation Camp in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Take a look at their presentation. It’s pretty cool and I would definitely use it. (My Garmin looks so outdated when looking at Wave) :)
