Microsoft’s approach to sustainability

by Radu Panciuc on March 30, 2009

The video describes a very interesting approach to sustainability propelled by Microsoft. Most likely this would be the future, eventually. The only questionable part is the one related to time: when are we going to switch to such devices in order to protect the environment? Before or after everything has depleted?

What is so sustainable about not using paper when doing presentations or read articles. Anyway people use screens today anyway. The only idea behind the video is: “See what cool devices Microsoft develops”.

I think I got a bit carried away when I first saw the clip. It is a good way for Microsoft to show off with their cool devices, but, at the same time, it is also one step ahead in the sustainability competition.People still need to be pushed in order to increase this awareness.
